Thursday 10th April - walks **** – Nacton Shores and Felixstowe – cloudy then sunny.

Walk 1 – Nacton Shore.

We woke to another cloudy day and Maeva was coming for the day instead of Friday this week, our plan was to pack a picnic and have it on the beach and take on a park somewhere but a message from our son Dan changed all that! He had got a puncture on the way to work this morning and had to call the breakdown out as new cars have no spare wheel! The AA fitted a temporary spare so he could drive to a tire place in Felixstowe but they had to get a tyre in so we agareed to take him to work in Nacton near Ipswich. We picked Dan up at Lidl carpark, went to pick up Maeva then took him to work by which time the sun had come out. We were so near to the lovely Nacton Shores we decided to drive down there to see the sheep! We parked at 11 and walked down to the River Orwell which looked wonderful with light offshore winds with blossom everywhere and there was several sheep with lambs in the grounds of Broke Hall but they were a job to see has the beautiful hedge has really grown but we found a gap to see them, I put her on my shoulders for a better view:) With the tide high we sat there for ages throwing stones in, just wonderful, she is a joy! What a bonus hour by the river we had before returning to Felixstowe where I made lunch and we ate it in the sunny back garden:) We then did some cooking including a big shepards pie and flatjack, Maeva loved cutting stuff up!

Walk 2 – Around Felixstowe.

Maeva was now getting tired so we had an easy hour and she had a quick doze. When Tipping Point had finished we decided to walk the mile to take her home not getting home until 6 for yummy shepards pie!

PS – it nice to get one yesterdays cowslip pics on ITV’s About Anglia, got to love Chris Page:)
