Friday 25th April - walk **** – Orwell Country Park including picnic with Maeva – Cloudy.

Friday is generally Maeva (the Granddaughter) day so I had enough time to do my exercises before Mag went to pick her up around 10.30. Maeva arrived and helped Mag water the front garden before I packed a picnic and we headed over to Orwell Country Park near Ipswich for a walk in the bluebell woods. We arrive at midday and Maeva is keen to walk, in fact she walked at least half today. The bluebells are now in full bloom and we had an absolute wonderful time doing an egg hunt with a bucket of plastic eggs her mum brought round at Easter weekend. Maeva seemed more impressed with the bees rather than the lovely bluebells, out of the woods I put Maeva on my shoulders to take her as far as the River Orwell where she once again stomps along the beach, sadly no sun today and a chilly breeze blowing down the Orwell, luckily it was on our backs! We find a nice sheltered spot behind a fallen tree and have a lovely picnic watching all sorts of birds:) We then continue along the river before turning right to the small holding and see three horses, a field of sheep plus chickens and peacocks, they have a pig again which got up to say hello to Maeva and she was less than impressed on being so close! We then walk under the Orwell Bridge and back along the noisy A 14 with some lovely oaks with bright green leaves:) We then take the scenic route back and spot two herds of deer round Levington which was great. Then at our house we have a snack while listening to 80’s disco music on Youtube, she loves an upbeat tune:) What a top day:)
