Friday 9rd May - walk ***** – Staverton Thicks, Rendlesham –
sunny!
After two hectic days of windsurf foiling it was nice to have a day off and
spend the day with the Granddaughter, the lovely Maeva:) The sunshine
continues, I had enough time to do my exercises in the back garden, pack a
picnic befoe driving round to pick Maeva up leaving her mum and dad free to
pack as they are heading to Devon to see Arlo, so both Grandchildren will
be together before Maeva heads to Cornwell for a week in a caravan:) Fist
stop was Dobies Nursery to get a refund on a dead plant which went will, we
were then going to Woodbidge park near the Deben but the traffic was very
busy which put us off so we instead drive to the much quieter Staveton
Woods. We walked down to the ancient oak trees now in full leaf and looking
stunning as usual:) We stopped first to say hello to the pigs, Maeva is not
sue about them as they are quite big close-up! We then walked down to the
lake, with Maeva walking, riding on my shoulders and a spell in the buggy.
We then spent ages on a wooden jetty enjoying the sunshine with Maeva
thowing small cones into the water with a family of geese in the
background! We then ambled back to the van to drive the short distance to
the car park at Butley Corner for a brilliant picnic in the van before
heading for home the scenic route were we had a cuppa will Maeva looked at
loads of books, anther great day was had by all!
PS - head a cuckoo too when we were sitting on the jetty at Rendlesham
Lake:)
