9th June 2025 Hiking - Walking: Levington Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny periods Max Speed: Distance Covered: Monday 9th June - walk *** β Levington Creek including picnic near the church β sunny periods. After the hectic but lovely day we had yesterday including a top windsurf foil and a brilliant afternoon with Maeva we had no plans for today so had a bit of a lazy start before a late breakfast and with the sun out I managed my exercises in the back garden. I then made the picnic, itβs the turn of egg sandwiches again as the cress Mag grows was ready to harvest:) We then decided to drive over to Levington Church for lunch on the bench looking down to the Orwell. Two cyclists just beat us to the bench so we decided to do the walk first, through the reed beds with a few deer over in the field with the big tree, reaching the Orwell just in time to see a barge slowly sail past. It was then back along Levington creek with loads of mud out there were a few birds about including shell ducks and geese with the odd redshank! The bikers were just leaving when we got the the seat so were able to have lunch with a muntjac deer calling and a sparrowhawk overhead. Then back to the van and home after a small detour down into Levington marina where we bumped into a couple of mates for a chat! We have an appointment in Ipswich tomorrow morning so will have to get up early! Photo Album here PS β my collection of Marc Bolan and T.
