Tuesday 1st July - walks **** – Landguard and Felixstowe – Sunny and hot:(.

Hottest day of the year so far reaching over 34 degrees in Writtle in Essex, way too hot for us even on the coast where it is a little cooler! As it’s the first of the month, big shop day we decided to drive down to The Manor end at 8.30 for a walk at Landguard. We actually set off along the beach first, me paddling as it was a little cooler there with a light breeze coming off the sea! We pretty much had this beautiful beach to ourselves set against a brilliant blue sky with some cool wispy clouds and got a few nice pics to send to the TV weather and was pleased when the lovely Chris Page used one on tonight's About Anglia! With the tide low I spent some time taking some pics of the old pier before joining Mag for a cuppa with an almond croissant by the Orwell, a few boats out including an old barge, some yachts, a fishing boat and the Stenna ferry heading out. It was too hot to walk back through the Nature Reserve so we returned along the beach, more paddling! Then a quick spin round Lidl it was home, I did my exercises, starting in the garden but too hot so went indoors! Being Tuesday we set off in the afternoon heading to Mary’s through Felixstowe town centre which was unbearably hot! Looking ten degrees cooler tomorrow with some rain:)
