Kite buggying - boarding: West Wittering Wind Direction: SSW Wind Stength: 20-30 Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: 8 Sea Temperature: Weather: Max Speed: 34.1 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 29.4 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Lots of kiters out at wittering today and very few dog walkers and
families. Wind was bang on shore and picked up gradually during the 2.5
hours I was there.
Beach was very wet and as tide was neaps the low tide was not low enough to
uncover the outer sandbank, it wasnt even low enough to get round past the
groyne towards east head.
Had some good runs when I found some dry sand but I just skidded a lot on
the wet beach (I really need some barrows or disks for conditions like
that). Got some good speed up at times but the lack of traction on the wet
beach scared me as I couldnt powerslide to scrub off speed consistently.
Ended up covered in sand and water with a wet kite to dry out as well.
Met a few others including some racing buggiers on disks and 3.4m
Yakusas.
Snapped another strop, must sort out a roller spreader bar.
