Windsurfing: Queen Mary Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 30mph Surf / Sea State: Choppy Air Temperature: 15 Sea Temperature: Weather: Overcast and rainy Max Speed: Distance Covered:
My first time windsurfing at Queen Mary. Turned up in a rain shower to find
loads out on 6.5m\'s, umm\'ed and err\'ed a lot before coughing up my
tenner. I rigged my 6.5m and went out but was way overpowered as wind had
picked up, changed down to 5m and had a few good runs. I really should have
rigged my 4.5m but couldnt be bothered so persisted with the 5m. Did lots
of waterstarts which is good but didnt managed one tack or gybe without
falling in. Also really struggled getting the back foot in the straps as my
heal ends up dragging in the water or I feel like I am going to be
catapulted forwards when I lift my rear foot to slip it in. Need to work on
this in nice flat water.
Impressed with QM, friendly people and good direction in a SW as could
blast over to the spit and turn round and head back.
