Mood: Pleasantly chilled!
14th January 2008
Windsurfing: Ynyslas
Wind Direction: WSW
Wind Stength: 25-35 knots
Surf / Sea State: 3-4 foot messy surf
Air Temperature: 10ºC
Sea Temperature: 9ºC
Weather: Cloudy
Max Speed:
Distance Covered:

I still don't have a 5m sail so went across to the beach with my 5.6m and 4.5m... The wind was around 25 knots so I plumped for the 5.6m with lots of downhaul as I would prefer to be maxed out than under-powered in big seas.

I was indeed maxed out the whole time, although there were one or two lulls where the 4.5m wouldn't have been enough so given the conditions it was probably the best choice. The extra power did result in some huge floaty jumps though.

I did try one forward loop as well, but it hurt my head quite a bit so 1 attempt was enough for today. Other than that it was perfect mad full on wave sailing at Borth with loads of big jumps, lots of white water, so very bumpy runs to avoid big waves and some nice backside wave-riding.
