2nd June 2019
Windsurfing: Felixstowe Dip
Wind Direction: SW
Wind Stength: F2 - F4
Surf / Sea State: Lumpy
Air Temperature: warm
Sea Temperature: warm
Weather: Sunny
Max Speed: 23.69 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 11.7 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

For once I timed it right arriving after high tide in the afternoon, whilst the other guys had been there most of the day. The wind was very light on arrival but wind was in the air. 3 went out not planing, but enough to tempt. Sea was lumpy around the river mouth but levelled up a bit near shore or way out to sea - wind with tide didn't help. 3 kiters out as well + plus all the usual Felixstowe crew. Andy and Stuart went out on foil, then switched to fin.
Rigged 8.5 / Ultrasonic 147 Light wind slalom board. At first it was nice, planing way out to sea at full pelt, just avoiding the river mouth if possible as it was big. You could ride off waves coming in so the session was going brilliant.
Unfortunately (fortunate for those on small sails) for me the wind filled just over F4 and I started to struggle with the 58cm fin, the large board and sail. Had a few more runs, but packed up as couldn't be bothered to rig another sail.
Having moved all the straps inwards, the board rode beautifully, with easy entry in the straps. Move the mast forward max and that kept the nose down. Tried another 2 inches moving boom up, which made it even more comfortable reaching, although difficult water starting. Sun was still shining at the end and some stayed till 7pm. Nice day Nice sail, but shame so much wind came when I was on big kit.
