Friday 10th January - bike ***** - Felixstowe to Falkenham Church – sunny.

After a couple of pretty full-on windsurfing sessions this week including a 30-knot wind foil and more wind forecast tomorrow it looked like a nice day to make the most of the forecast sunshine today. The sun didn’t arrive until lunch time so we had a relaxing morning at home then Mag quickly packed a salad and we headed off on our bikes at one. It was straight onto the prom which was fairly busy with people enjoying the sunshine and light winds. We past Alan Boyle, a local photographer/film maker filming on the beach and if you look at the ‘Felixstowe video’ link and if you look very closely you will see Mag and I whizz past, it took me five minutes of freezing the video to get a still! At The Fludgers we take to road down to the much quieter Dip leading to our favourite Felixstowe Ferry and the deep blue sky/sea looked lovely especially with the wind being light:) After a quick trip around the boatyard we set off on the River Deben path, slightly muddy but not too bad and as pretty as usual. Then down past Kingsfleet and up to Falkenham Church to have lunch with Emily ( she is actually in the graveyard! ) and once again the snow drops are already coming up:) After a delicious salad including a phone call from windsurfing mate Peter Cutts arranging us getting together this Sunday it was time to head home along country lanes and footpaths but avoiding the muddy woods at The Grove. So another 5 star two hour plus bike ride taking in the best Suffolk has to offer!
