With loads of wind coming next week today was a bit of a bonus session, cloudy day with a few spots of rain I still managed my exercises in the garden in the morning. With the breeze increasing slightly I decided to head over to the River Orwell at Levington again to try and improve my gybing but was not really expecting much Andy M was already there having rigged 8.2 as Robert and Jamie arriving with the wind looking light:( We all decided to rig and give it a try, Andy was first away followed by me but we did not get flying. Andy returned ashore while I sailed across the corner waiting for things to improve. Lightweight Jamie on his huge race foil board with 9m and was flying as I still struggled just not enough to try and pump up on, I would like to try a foil sail, something like the interesting looking Ezzy Hydra Pro to see if that would improve my light wind foiling, just not keen in marginal conditions! Then we got lucky and the wind filled in nicely for an hour getting some nice runs across the corner playing with the yachts. The gybing is still a work in progress but moving slowly in the right direction! The wind then eased off so it was time to call it a day hoping there is better wind tomorrow, it is supposed to be a strong SW with heavy rain in the morning, then as the rain moves through it turns west and eases down so will see what the day brings?
