A pretty much identical forecast to yesterday, maybe a tad cooler with slightly less breeze but still great none the less:) Again got down fairly early to make sure I could park at 9.30, this time Mag came for the ride so she could walk back along the prom. At this point the wind was WSW. Probably the best direction for The Manor which means the sea state can be really smooth, can be a bit of guess work choosing the right sail as the wind is a fraction offshore. I went for the same as yesterday, foil with 6.5 which proved OK for most of the session even if the wind was a little up and down. I went for another hour and was surprised to get a foil PB as there were some lulls and my gybing was not as good as yesterday but did get a spot alpha PB so got a few right. I concentrated on staying in the smoother water from The Manor to the pier but then the wind swung around south which certainly picked the sea up, in fact it was really big, especially further out to sea, some challenging conditions at this point! The highlight of the session was sailing past an old sailing boat heading up the coast. After a few runs at Landguard I go for a two and a half mile downwinder in a really messy sea but the foil certainly smooths that all out:) Interesting beat back straight into some really big waves I decide to go ashore, easily landing despite the wind being onshore as my launch bay is sheltered by a rock groyne. I did have a few runs on my 115lt. fin board but sadly not windy enough for it so time to call it a day, so two really good days, was surprised to get spot PB’s for speed, ave., mile, hr and alpha which just goes to show the new kit is a step up from my old stuff! Looks like no wind for a week now, getting cooler too so time to get out on the bikes again:)
