Started off with my 5m sail and then 5.7m sail but there just wasn't enough. Today it was pretty windy but also very gusty. My wheel-barrow was broken too so I carried my kit over and went out with a 4m sail. It was only just enough, Fine once I was up and going but I could have done with a bit more really. It's a really old sail, has seen better days and doesn't have much of a range so I was struggling to get enough power out of it much of the time. Mind you, the squall that came through just after I got off the water would have been more than enough with gusts of 54 knots! I hope you haven't got a chimney that needs cleaning! ;-) http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?goto=lastpost&tid=6803 Sat, 16 Feb 2019 14:50:57 +0000 http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?pid=36279 Sunday Morning Bike Ride - By justal Simon and I are heading out for a ride on Sunday (Jan 27th) for a MTB ride. Feel free to join us. We'll start from the Lifeboat Station at 7:30am. The ride will be getting on for 30 miles with a good mix of on and off road riding with little if anything in the way of traffic. There's a fair bit of climbing and we won't be hanging about too much as it'll be cold, wet and windy so I'll want to get back to go windsurfing! This is the planned route: https://www.strava.com/routes/16907910 There's nothing too technical so it's suitable for Mountain Bikes or Gravel/CX bikes. We'll be on hardtail MTB's Al. http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?goto=lastpost&tid=6802 Sat, 26 Jan 2019 07:51:02 +0000 http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?pid=36278 Looking good for the weekend - By justal It's about time, but the wind is looking good for the weekend! :) Al. http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?goto=lastpost&tid=6801 Fri, 25 Jan 2019 14:13:58 +0000 http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?pid=36277 Toybox Issues - Fixed - By justal Just a quick note to say that there was a slight issue with the 'toybox' today. The database became corrupted and couldn't be fixed so I had to reinstate it from a back up. I've now done that and all seems to be OK again. I don't think any data was lost in the process. I've added a new 'ticker' to several pages as well. Al. http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?goto=lastpost&tid=6794 Sat, 13 Oct 2018 07:45:07 +0100 http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?pid=36272 Historic Data Graphs - By justal Just for fun and info I've added a couple of new graphs to the Weather Station pages. One to show what the wind, temperature, humidity, pressure and rainfall have been up to over the past 7 days, and one to show the same parameters for the month to date. Both can be found on the 'Historic Weather' tab within the Weather Station pages. I've also added some new rainfall data charts too, the one comparing this years rainfall to the average rainfall is cool, as is the bar graph of rain per month. You can see them on the rainfall page Al. http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?goto=lastpost&tid=6796 Sat, 13 Oct 2018 07:38:23 +0100 http://www.forces-of-nature.co.uk/forum/viewthread.php?pid=36271 Kitesurfing or kiters in Aberystwyth - By Kiri Perfect cant wait to get to Aberystwyth it sounds amazing, i will definitely check out borth and Ynyslas as soon as i get there, and the weather station sound like a very good idea.
