kite lesson in poole?
rode - 18-3-2009 at 21:33

Hello!
I have been kiting a couple times and loved it. Only got as far as body-drag tho... so, quite keen to learn a bit more and buy sum equipment a little further down the line... Kite lessons seem mighty expensive so anyone willing to give a poor south african a lesson or so? In return I will let you visit me in cape town where i live 2min from the beach and the south easter blows all summer. haha! Currently staying bout 40mins from poole.

Any tips or ideas?

thxx

now we all know there is no such thing as a poor south african!
are you talking about the lovely warm indian ocean at the strand/ gordons bay, or the freezing cold atlantic at bleoberg?
possibly not a more unsafe place to learn than in poole harbour!

Not doubting the chap's integrity, but have noticed a few 'first' posts on here from folks offering the free use of their apartments abroad in exchange for assistance here. But never imagined there would be one as experienced as you about S.A on the forum though Neil !?!

poole harbour: shipping route in and out, main road going right by with real cars!
I remember Neil Godbold telling me that he would not do a risk assessment for poole harbour for one of the english pro kitesurfing rounds some years back and these guys can ride!
got no chance getting me into that cold water at B/berg. the strand is more my temp! my wife was there last week and has now returned to durbs; anyway can't beat a spot of shark baiting!!
