If you own one of these, maybe you can help.

I've never had mine inflated yet, so on unwrapping it this evening and laying it out, I was supprised to see two valves at the ends of the leading edge ??. I don't have the space to pump it up, but I guess these are to aid deflating the LE ??? (as there is no larger deflate valve near the centre ???).

Also, what sort of knot are you supposed to tie on the rear connections ?. There is a loop on the end if the rear lines with a knot in it, and an open loop on the kite rear attachment point ?? (sort of a loop to loop pigtail with shrinkwrap). I looked on the website, which sort of shows a larks head, but as it's not very flexible I thought I'd ask rather than get it wrong.

Simple questions, with hopefully simple answers.

It sounds the same as my 11m. The two out valves are to aid deflation. I tend to roll my kite up from one end to the other and use these.

The back lines loop round a knot on the control lines. This will become obvious when you look at the sonic line set. The front lines are the normal larks lype.

If I get chance after the weekend I will take a picture.

If you have any problems me or shem could run through this on the beach the next time your down.

Hi SI. As farty bottom said, its all standard stuff. The valve at the end of the LE makes packing away very quick and easy, No more rolling both ends to the centre, just roll it all through in 1 go! The rear line attachment is always a bit stiff when new, but you can still use it to form a larks head, which goes over the knot at the end of the rear line end.

I thought that was the case, but as with any new toy, I was a bit releuctant to force anything. The rear loop just looked too small to make a larks head knot without bending the shrink wrapped section.

Nice idea with the valves on the ends of the LE, just never seen that before.

Don't think I will be down again till March next year, so have a good Christmas and New Year.

Shem, you can't convert eveybody. I'm too hocked so could not go that long without my fix. Cold or not. Gives me an excuse to sit in the Dovey Inn longer during these long cold nights.

Only 6 weeks to my holiday in lovely warm Cape Verde, so I'm trying to blank out all the wind I see every day and concentrate on getting my fitness up at the gym.


I Really miss coming to Wales to kite though.

My 8m Sonics is just the sweetest, bestest kite EVER! Even a girls blouse like me gets cold just so I can take it out... eventually I'll get a drysuit, but I'm still in my old wettie due to the odd crash & burn here and there.
