mNeil - 23-9-2010 at 18:09

very much out of the north for sat and sun; does the massif think it might be worth a trip down there sat morn for the weekend?

Hey Neil,
What is it like for kitesurfing at Llanrhystud ? I have never thought of going there - and its closer to my house (10km) than Ynyslas as the crow flies but a bit more by road

Where abouts do you go? it looks from google earth that there are 3 possible roads to the beach, 2 through caravan parks though...

Cheers,
Neal.

Anyone know why I get asterix instead of the name of the place... looks ok on preview. Is there something about the place I should know

hi Neal is that because it is a secret spot?
tis the right turn opposit the petrol station go along the road to the end; only good at low tide as too many rocks aboutlook closer on multi map and you can see some cars parked at the end

Id stay off the reef and stick to the beach, unless your happy in sucky waves

Personally I love South beach in aberystwyth in a northerly. Launch in front of the take away hut, cleanest north wind around, and clean swell usually
Just be carfull launching and landing.
Im in for either tho, group outing

justal - 24-9-2010 at 00:20

Shhhhhh! Don't mention Llanrhystud!

snoozer11 - 24-9-2010 at 00:29

Got it - thanks Neil.

I have wondered about South beach also, never seen anyone kiting there so thought it might be `out of bounds'... Also wondered about Tanybwlch (south of the harbour), we sometimes used to get good wind there sailing perhaps being forced around pen-dinas. Both only 5 mins from work for me so ideal for an hour in an extended lunch break...
Neal.

will have to make decision on saturday morning keep close to the phones

Spooker - 24-9-2010 at 13:33

Won't be down till late, so will probably head for the estuary and see what's happening first thing. Really doesn't look enough to warrant the trip to LL*******d..

OOOH look - the asterisk thing is happeninhg to me too

dunk - 24-9-2010 at 15:22

Lol, its that secret you have to use very short lines, so you can't see the kites from the road!

Chris once told me, he paddled out there for a surf, and someone said, "locals only here!" Chris said, "where you from?" He said, "Newtown". Chris said, "Well I live up the road, so you best f^*k off"!

Ha ha!

bucski - 24-9-2010 at 17:03

I think you're all being far too optimistic, can't see any wind where I'm looking from, reckon it would be much better at f********h or t**************y, or even, d*******t, or how about r***t**************i**********sh!

justal - 25-9-2010 at 08:33

Careful with those asterix's - I had to second guess what you were ACTUALLY going to do in the garden - It'll make you blind you know!

Al.

snoozer11 - 25-9-2010 at 08:37

Ahhh - only necessary when domestic credit is negative...

Well nothing the estuary this morning, absolutely still. But it built during the morning and me, Neil AndyB and Fish had a great little sail this afternoon, 15 knots NW and glorious sunshine
Wind was bleedin cold though!

snoozer11 - 25-9-2010 at 19:46

I knew wind would appear if I committed to WORK in the garden... But feeling very virtuous...

justal - 26-9-2010 at 05:54

I went for a MTB ride in the morning then gardening in the afternoon where I could keep an eye on the wind. Didn't quite fill in enough for me.

Swimming in Lake Bala on Sunday for Diabetes UK - Please sponsor me!
