Hi Al,

I like the web site really well. I think the forum is my favorite as now there realy is a live element in all this.

I wish there was a chat room in the forum because whenever I see others online as well, I would like to "talk" to them too.

How are the chances of adding something like that?

You could use U2U messages...not quite a chat room but it should work OK

I'll look into it. There is the possibility of a chat room, but I'd like to have one that is integrated with the forum (i.e. only forum members could use it, you could click on a users username in the who's online area to activate a chat session etc.)... I'd also want it to be relatively basic and therefore fast and not too processor intensive....I'll try some out...If it works on my computer, then it'll work on anybody's, so I'll see how it goes.

However, the sun is shing, theres some wond and the bouys say the swell has picked up, so I have better things to do right now!

Al.

Although a nice idea in my experience they are never used much. It is hard to time a number of people online at the same time.

Why not use Windows Messenger or ICQ? I know its another programme but many people already use one or the other. We could add our ICQ numbers or messenger names to our own profile then once they're added to an individuals contacts its easy to see who's online.

I personally use messenger because it came with XP but would happily install ICQ if thats what the majority use.

Just an idea to save Al yet more work!

Joe, helenjct....
You'll be pleased to hear that I think I've found a chat facility that I like and shoud be able to integrate with this forum.... It might take me a while to implement it though, so hold tight!

Who knows, if I get it working properly it might be worth the wait.

Al.

I've done it....Check the linke at the top of the page.
