Probably a S. Coast event... Unless of course some of us elsewhere pull our fingers out and do something to make it otherwise.

I guess whether or not ist a south coast event is down to you experienced northern salers with some help from us newbies!

I've had a great first summer windsurfing (still going) made some great new friends and spent a shed load of cash.........that reminds me need to update my toybox!

Seriousley what a great sport wish I had got into it years ago, I will do my utmost to promote it amonst friends, neighbours and colleaguesto try and increase its popularity.

guys and gals,

got to say really dissappointed in the response to this everywhere else there seems to be a buzz about this possible event but not here?

Its not just a south coast thing the northumberland boys have picked up the idea and run with it! why not here?

does it suggest that the windsurfing fraternity is not well represented on here or just not bothered? as a newbie to the sport i have no right to point the finger just dissappointed that us welshboys seem a little uninterested in promoting the sport.

Apologies if i'm way off the mark here just expected more form this sit

All it takes is one or two people to do something about it.... Rather than waiting for others to do something about it why not be the one to take up the baton and run with it?

Trouble is in Wales, most of the windsurfing communities are small and dispersed so there is no real 'Welsh fraternity'... For example, here in Borth I'm the only local sailor but there are a few regulars who come from the Midlands... I'm sure if someone organised something here in Wales for the National Windsurfing week then others would participate...

Well were off and running, we had our official launch at the Whyte & Mackay Earls Court Boat Show on Friday 30th November. Bryony Shaw, Olympic windsurfer was kind enough to launch the event for us.

What can you do to help? Well for starters, make sure everyone knows it's happening, 3rd - 11th May 2008.

Write up and some photo's here:

Hope you all had some good windsurfing today with all the wind.

National Windsurfing Week has gained the backing of the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), which is to promote the week through its network of 225 windsurfing specific RYA recognised training centres.
