Going on a Kitesurfing Holiday?
Dandine - 4-1-2007 at 21:42

Hi everyone. Hope you had a good Xmas and a Happy New Year. I'm looking to go on a kitesurfing holiday in March and want to know if anyone has any suggestions/advice on good places to go. I have had a few lessons with Paul (pluto) in Dovey and would like to carry it on with some further instruction wherever I go. I got all the kit now so hire is not necerssary. Also if anyone else fancies a holiday as well I would be more than happy with the company. Cheers

Egypt is a good bet. In March, the wind cleans up and promises80-85% kite friendly wind, people are friendly and helpfull and it's well cheap.

Hi Dandine, I'm off to Tarifa with Rye Watersports who are now running the Animal Academy. Website is animaltarifa.com. I'm going 21st March for a week. I went last year to learn and it was brilliant, hence going again. Maximum of 4 clients on the entire holiday (instructor George is a top bloke and his wife Rosie takes videos etc). It costs £450 plus your BA flight to Gibraltar, includes beachfront flat (shared between the 4) all kit and tuition.
Recommended!

Cheers fir the info there ajdesq. I've been in contact with George and he was very helpful. Will be booking the same week as you as it's bang after my 30th Bday. Going to take my own kit though. Will try there's when I'm out there but want to learn on mine. Are you taking your own kit? Anyway, Cheers again and see you there.

Wahey! I won't be Jonny no mates for the week! Mind you, if it's just me & thee then I bags the double room as A. It was my idea B. I'm a returning client, and C. I'm older than you!

30th birthday huh? Sounds like we might have to make an evening of that. Mind you, two halves of shandy and I'm finished...

I'm not taking my own kit. Too much hassle flying with kit. I'd always rather break someone elses anyway.

I posted some pix of last year's trip on YouTube, so go have a look:

Rye Watersports Tarifa 2006

That was a year ago learning to get it up (madam); hoping this time around to do jumps, upwind stuff etc.

See ya on t'plane!
