April Fools?
justal - 29-3-2011 at 07:44

Things are looking good for Thursday 31st and possibly April 1st too - Hope its not Windguru doing some kind of April Fools joke!

I can't sail Thursday afternoon but might be able to get out on the water in the morning, and maybe even for an evening session as well now that the clocks have changed.

I'll be out on Friday as well if the wind is any good.

Anyone else fancy joining me?

Al.

Cool, Thursday evening sounds like a good idea. I'll check to make sure I have time, but I should have an hour or two from about 6pm.

If it does turn out to be a decent SW thursday morning I'll be down kiting, Al.

Cool, I'll try to do both then. A morning session as that looks like the windiest time at the mo, and an evening session if it's still windy enough.

Friday morning looks good as well.

Al.

Excellent - I'll probably try and get down around 9ish in the morning, tide will be on the way out by then.

Neal.

dunk - 30-3-2011 at 16:53

I'll be out, probably after lunch, as I'm not a morning person.

justal - 31-3-2011 at 06:03

Looking good at the mo... Think it'll be an mid morning session (9ish) for me as well, maybe a little earlier.

See you there Snoozer!

Just about to throw kit in the car and leave for Ynyslas - collecting Michele in Aber en route...

Neal.

snoozer11 - 31-3-2011 at 06:37

ps. Al - I think the forum hasn't changed to BST... It's not *that* early! (7.37am)

justal - 31-3-2011 at 07:31

The time is set on a per person basis so that they can put it to whatever their timezone is - You can change this in your control panel.

I might be a bit later now as I have had a phone call from the electrician and he's coming around at 9 so I have to be here for him.

Sounded as though the coastguard helicopter landed on the beach at Ynyslas just after I got off the water. Is everyone Ok?

Al.

Well I was out until about 1pm when Col arrived - and the wind died... Didn't see any coastguard helicopter but a Chinook flew over heading north very low and very slow. I was quite glad I wasn't out back at the time - although it probably wasn't quite as low as it looked...

Great session 4 hour though !
Neal.

ps funny about the timezone - it must have been wrong last summer for me and I never noticed !

dunk - 31-3-2011 at 16:51

Less of the Col, Neal, you can call me Dunk lol

The wind came back too as predicted.

Blaschito - 31-3-2011 at 17:05

hey Neal,

we were worried but all seems good then ...did the wind dropped a bit by the time i left?
for me it's time to buy a new kite after my ripping water start followed by a 100 m dash sprint
i was glad that that did not happened if i had gone back past the wave ..oh well part of the game unfortunately, and I am experiencing all the parts it seems ...Kev you'll be laughing if you read this post mate ..i know it
i am allover the place as usual..nothing goes smooth

Cool, glad everyone's ok. The copter must have been quite low as we couldn't see it above the dunes here, just hear it.

I had a good sail for a while, but there wasn't really enough wind for me so I didn't stay out long. Should've rigged a bigger sail really but had to get off to the uni.

Al.

snoozer11 - 31-3-2011 at 18:17

Yep I knew the wind would come back Dunk - but 4 hours was already enough for me...

Michele - You'd have been OK on your 12m later... but not until you'd have missed your lecture

Al - the copter was the lowest I have ever seen without actually landing - impressive things those Chinooks

Now what it gonna be like this weekend...

justal - 31-3-2011 at 18:49

Heres my video of my windsurf session from today. Lovely and sunny, lots of waves, windy and some wipe-outs and swims. What more could you ask for.

Spooker - 31-3-2011 at 19:29

Chinook eh - you sure it wasn't cap'n Bluebird playing with his latest toy??

He's been locked in his bedroom for months building a near-life-size choook apparently....

Leastways that's what he told Ren he was doing

bucski - 31-3-2011 at 20:55

I have to confer that the Chinook rumours are true, popped round to Neil's a couple of weeks back. He has had to build an extension to house the Chinook and plans to take the roof off the house to fly it out.

snoozer11 - 1-4-2011 at 10:14

I'd have gone faster if I'd known I'd be in your video
