shawn - 30-10-2008 at 09:23

I'm hoping to book 2 or 3 weeks in Kenya from end of Jan/ early feb - Probably to Nyali or Diani beach area..
Has anyone been? Got any tips/ comments on which beach is best, hotels or other accomodation - that kinda thing.. Any comments most appreciated, cheers

Nyali is bigger, better known and more crowded, Diani smaller and quiter - don't go there for the nightlife! Both are pretty much the same wind-wise I think. Winds die off end of Feb but earlier than that you should be good. 12M is the order of the day, they rarely get winds over 20 knots.
Take seaspecs and factor 50 - it is very bright and very hot.
Several hotels in and around Diani, make sure you get aircon - me and kitefish went native in a mud hut and it was HOT

Hi! I have just registered here and I am also keen to travel to Diani or Nyali, have you already booked your trip? Let me know, so we can exchange tips ;-)

I'll write here if I find some nice offers.

Bye

Hello Friends..

Out of these two beaches "Nyali or Diani beach" i will highly recommend Diani beach area....This is because this beach is more beautiful as compare to Nyali beach..Also you can enjoy here wind surfing and kite surfing too...It doesn't mean that in Nyali beach you can't do these activities, you can ,but the speed of wind is particularly not so good for wind surfing....
