Kitesurf holiday Feb/March with catch ...

Hi all,

Last summer I did a kitesurfing course here in the UK and managed to get up on the board and bez back and forth (but never upwind!). Anyway really got the bug and then promptly broke my leg ... not kitesurfing.

Looking to get away somewhere bright and sunny in Feb/March and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a good place to do a refresher course.

The catch is I can't go anywhere that is a malaria risk as I might be donating bone marrow when I return (waiting test results to see if I'm a match)

Basically looking for somewhere that will be good to build up my confidence and practice travelling upwind. Happy to go somewhere that will require a wetsuit but really would like to get some sun as well.

What is Tarifa normally like then? I've heard it can get crowded.

Also thinking Ras Sudr or maybe Algarve.

Just don't really know what to look for!

Any tips suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance :-)

Ras Sudr is a great place. Spent 4 weeks there a couple of years ago.

Stayed in the Paradise hotel which is next to the beach and is the location of the CNS Funkite kite school.

Sylvan and Stephanie who run the place are great people. The setup is second to none. The instructors are great, the beach guys are always on hand to land/launch and are EXCELLENT - there is also a resuce boat on duty all day.

Down the coast is Moon Beach and also Club Mistral - but they're not as good.

Fly into Sharm and you'll get picked up by a driver - it's 4 hours drive north - but well worh it.

Wind can't be guaranteed in March but in this sport you're in the lap of the wind gods !!

good luck
