Going windsurfing from London

Hi everybody,
I am thinking of moving to London for my job (I am right now in NY)...and I was wondering if you guys could tell me a bit more about how difficult (if I have a car) it is to get to the spots, how long it takes to go to good wave riding spots and where they are...or if you could give me some links where to find that...
Thanks a lot !

NY = NewYork?
I do most of my sailing inland on a lake so waves pretty much scare me
I tend to head for the flatter parts of the sea around the coast when I go.
London isn't that far from the coast the hardest part would be getting in, out and traffic at peak times (leave early come back late).
Check the beach guide on this site most places on south coast can be reached in less than 2 hrs, south wales 3 hrs. I
We can drive halfway across the country here and still get home for tea, can nearly always find wind of the right direction

Thanks for the info ! NY = New York indeed...there are actually decent waves here (well...not incredible...but Maui is quite close !!!).
Anything from people wave riding in the UK ?
