Its all about mastfoot pressure as well as tilting the rig towards the front of the board. Its a common problem so stick with it and try to channel the power of the rig through the mastfoot so that it pushes the nose of the board downwind a little.... You can get the feel of this by manouvering the board in shallow water whilst standing next to it (as if you were about to do a beach start). If you push down through the mastfoot the nose of the board will move away from you.

Also, do you have the centerboard down as that will help.

It will come with practice though and it is just a matter of keeping at it until you get the feeling..

thanks for that , will the positioning of the mast on the mast track affect this ?

Another thing to do is to push through the front foot as well to push it off the wind and don't be too heavy footed on the back foot.

It will a bit... Moving it further forward may help, but in the end the mast foot position is more to do with the size of the sail you are using. For general sailing on the sort of board you are using with a 5.7m sail then I would imagine the mast foot should be pretty much in the middle of the track.... However, it is all about experimentation so move it and see if it helps. Everyone is different and everyone has different sailing stances so moving things around to see what best suits you is always a good idea.
