Isle of Man End2End 2012

Well, Jay and I survived the Isle of Man End2End at the weekend.

All turned out well. The course was slightly different this year in order to avoid some sensitive areas so was a few miles longer and had more climbing. There was also a 30mph headwind all the way. The leaders were about 45 minutes 'slower' than usual because of this, but I beat my previous time by 5 minutes so I'm happy with that.

1,700 riders, 45 miles from one end of the Kingdom of Man to the other, 5,100 feet of climbing - Lovely!

4:42 for me, 7:02 for Jay.

I hope the weather was better than it is here!

Nope, it was 'orrible. Cold, wet and very windy along with pretty much zero visibility on top of the hills.

At least I didn't get too hot or sunburnt I suppose and the winds kept the midges at bay.
