I have sent stuff (booms, sails etc.) using normal parcel force delivery quite often... I sent a sail a few weeks back and it cost
about £6 including insurance.
I sent other stuff via Securicor before as well, which was quicker (Next Day whereas parcel Force can take up to 10 days) and it cost
about a tenner (a few years ago.

I've tried to send stuff via Royal mail / Parcel Force before and they always tell me theres a maximum length and won't take it.
I don't know how you always get away with it Al.

Maybe thats one of the benefits of rural post offices... They don't know, or don't care about the rules!!!
