If I get chance I'l have a look around some of the classifieds for you Col but probably something along the lines of a Bic Techno 283 (2nd hand) and then get a rig package new.. Although theres nothing wrong really with a 2nd hand sail or two.

Best thing to do would be find some you like the look / price of and then ask back here for the suitability.

hey was wrong with em fings wiv strings ?

board recomendations ! hmmmmmmmm at 55kgs a techno 283 would seem like a battle cruiser as soon as it got moving
would suggest join local club if anthing around or few hire sessions on something to get a feel .

then Boot sale for some bargains, at 55kgs a modern 110L board would be plenty stable enough , as for sails plenty around 2nd hand

quest ? when you say something intermediate is this because theres some experience ? or starting from scratch ?

55kg, 5ft 6", can you post piccys of her so we can advise further

Seriously though, 2nd hand boards and sails are fine thats what I do saves me a fortune, but I always get new masts and booms, boardwise have some great deals at the moment.

Do you know what conditions she's likely to sail in ?

she's improving starting to plane etc , had rya lessons on a puddle but i want to keep her intrested so i can kite, and not get moaned at, i too heave been told second hand board new rig, as she doesn't have great upper body strength..

the conditions she will probably will sail in are cruisy weather nothing to serious, but on the boards front she doesn't want a battle cruiser, its a bit like kiting tons of different kit out there but i haven't got a clue whats whats on the windsurfing front

ok then considering the weight a freestyle board around 100L mark should be ok ,
seriously tho , take a look at some of the new kiddie's kit , its cheaper and designed to work on sub 60kg body weights

Founder of the watch out if your in the water I.LL RUN RIGHT OVER YOU club , he,he,he
