South Wales

Is anyone going out this sunday in gower? Wind doesnt look too promising but I'm just looking to get to know some other windsurfers in the area.

Must be a few of us out there?

Mike

Hi Kelvin,

Thanks for the reply. I hadnt previously considered Porthcawl but looking at it as I live near the M4 in Swansea its probably quicker for me to go there as down to Oxwich or Horton.

The beach guide says that Trecco can be a bit dangerous for beginners - I can sail confidently on all points of sail but havent got into the harness yet - thats my next stage. Would I have anything to worry about?

How is the access down there also - is it a case of rigging up on the sandy beach?

I wont be out this weekend but looking to go out in near future.

Mike

treco can be a bit iffy for beginers !
can you water start ? its a must for treco as its never flat so uphaul is a no/no .
Newton can be really good for beginers though as long as plenty south in wind .
c u soon

Maybe you should take a look at the latest photo of Trecco that Kelvin has added to the photo galleries.... Not a place for beginners on days like that!!

Al.

Hi,
I can beach start just about - in the right conditions but never tried a deep waterstart.

Perhaps I need to get good at some of those techniques before trying Trecco.

But In anycase I might go down there to see you guys in action!
cheers
