BOARDWISE DEMO WEEKEND 14th / 15th OCTOBER @ ABERDYFI

DEMO WEEKEND 14th / 15th OCTOBER @ ABERDYFI
-------------------------------------------------
Our Autumn demo will this year be held at Aberdyfi and NOT Borth as in previous years. The event will be held from the main carpark in Aberdyfi, again it is a free event just bring your wetsuit / harness and try out all the new equipment from our suppliers. We hope that by holding the event at Aberdyfi, it will attract a wider range of improver / intermediate and advanced sailors. Aberdyfi offers both flat water blasting and wave break for the more experienced.

Superb. I was thinking this morning when the demo would be so I went on googles search engine looking for 'boardwise demo 2006' and this was the first search result that came back, this forums thread.

Sounds good to me. Lets hope its gonna be a windy one. Gives us something to look forward to cos the weather cant be any worse at the moment. Rain and no wind! No wind forecast for the weekend either.

It probably will be a windy one.... Not sure if I'd make the trip to Aberdovey anyway (unless the wind was in the right direction to sail across), but I shall be at a wedding that weekend so won't be able to make the demo...

So there's your sacrifice to the wind Gods.... you should all have an excellent day now thanks to me.

Yeah I've used both your old 6.3 & 5.7 sails when I was in France on the lake - hardly any wind though so just pottering about. Im gonna get a new panel in the 6.3 and then it'l be a pretty good sail again.
Im hoping it'l be 25 knots all weekend on 14/15th Oct for the demo weekend - its gotta be if your not there Al. Even if it isn't, I think another piss up in Aberystwyths on the cards as well so hopefully gonna be a good one.

Al,

Thanks for putting this out for us.

Hopefully we will get rewarded with wind. It would be a shame if there wasn't, there is some really nice kit for 2007, had me a blast on the Kombat 97 last week up at Rozzy - what a board it Rocks! I can highly recommend one.

Take care, see some of you in Dovey

Hans.

I was windsurfing in a local lake in the huates de Alpes provence about an hour North of Marseille. The lakes pretty good when the French Mistral blows down the Rhone valley. No such luck this year with the mistral though.

Aberdyfi party sounds good as well Shem. I've got 5 days holidays left for the rest of the year so I might make a big long week out of it all down in Borth/Dyfi.

Thought I would post this again for a reminder about the Boardwise Demo. Whos gonna be comin to Aberdyfi this weekend?
Forecast is looking like gusty South Easterlys for the estuary. Should be ok for windsurfing though.
Hopefully Ivor will come into effect for the estuary, turn it more Easterly and blow a hoolie.
I really hope High Pressure doesn't set in next week as that really will ruin my plans completely for 5 days of windsurfin/kitesurfing in Dyfi/Borth!

When are you here from - to Jonny??? I won't be making the demo weekend, but I shall be around before and after. We'll have to catch up sometime.

It's still a few days off yet, so the forecast could quite easily improve.

I might be up for a day.

Hopefully there will be some wind. It would be quite good to sail some shiny new kit in the estuary ;-)

Here's the latest from the Boardwsie guys:

quote:

DEMO WEEKEND 14th / 15th OCTOBER @ ABERDOVEY (Aberdyfi)
-------------------------------------------------

Well the forecast looks good!

Don't be fooled by the moderate wind forecast or the direction...

Currently looking like 12mph SSE on Saturday and 14mph East on Sunday. The set up of the mountains and hills inland mean that any Easterly wind is accelerated and you can expect 17 - 20 mph on Saturday and 19 - 23 mph on Sunday. This will be a cross shore wind at Aberdovey.

The equipment should be available for use from 10:30 - 11:00am, please be patient if the importers are still rigging the equipment...

We always advise that you bring your own kit as well as comming to try out the latest 2007 kit, as there is only so much equipment.

Aberdyfi offers both flat water blasting and wave break for the more experienced. The yacht club's facilities are available for changing, showering and refreshments etc. The yacht club will also be providing a BBQ on the Saturday night for a small charge.

We hope to see you there...

Regards,

Ian G.

I was gonna post a few comments on the pics but there was no option anywhere within the galleries section to post comments.

I went to login within the aberdyfi windsurfing gallery and it took me straight onto the forum pages once I had logged on. Went back to the Aberdyfi gallery and it was the same as before
