Light Wind Kite for the Summer?

Howzit bruis
Jus a quick question really askin for thoughts on a light wind kite for myself before the warmer weather arrives (wishful thinking).

I've got my 9m Trix which im loving and it does me from 15 up to around 30 knots. I was out on it in Cape Town a few weeks ago in 35 knots but it was a bit much. 15 knots is a tad bit light and takes a bit of hard work trynna stay upwind.
I've got an old 2003 12m Cabrinha C02 and the perfomance of the 9m Trix has made it obsolete really.

I was thinking a decent kite to go for would be an 06 kite around 13/14m kinda size which will cover me from 10 - 20 knts on those light wind summer days. The other question would be 'bow' or 'C' kite for the light winds? The bow kites seem so efficient in light winds especially an 06 Sonic 14m.
Oh yeah, I weigh 80 kg and I would be using a 140x40 board.

Any thoughts then guys
Jonny

Hey johnny glad yar liking the trix. I recon once you get real used to it, the trix will give you a bigger wind range than u think, but your board size will vary that as well.

My 11meter sonic does me from 10-20 knots happily, well actually more like 10-30. However if I know its gonna be a steady 10 knots constant I take out my 20 meter C kite, a caution spitfire. Its wind range is tiny and Im well over powered by 14 knots, but its there for those summer days. Ive used a few big bows, (14 to 16m), and they certanly have bigger wind ranges so 20 knots is no probs, theyre also better all rounders, but I recon for out right light wind sailing get a big C. Just remember your stuffed once it gets over 13-14 knots, hehehehe

It's not that bad Shem.... As long as the wind doesn't get up and you have plenty of run off area!!!!

I found it easy to fly, just a pain in the back (literally for me) to pump up as it is just SO big.

I wanted a big kite for when I went to the Isle of Wight last year. Picked up strike 17m dead cheap in good condition which I used for most of the week which it pulls real well and I can get loads of depower out of it.

Glad I did not spend much though as with all big kites you dont use them much.

As with Shem my 11 sonic takes me from around 12-30+ knots if I really want to push it in the gusts.
