Caribbean Kitesurf Trip!

Hey everyone!

I went on a kite surfing holiday this year to the Caribbean and it was the best trip ever, so I thought I would share it with you!

I went with some friends to St Lucia where we chartered a sailboat with Captain and crew who sailed us down to St Vincent and the Grenadines to the most wicked kite spots. Everyday we were on a new island with a new spot to surf, not another soul in sight and crystal clear waters. We had the best 10 days of kiting ever, perfect conditions and it wasn't very costly at all.

You should check out their website www.caribbeankitesurf.com

It's really worth it!

Safe Kiting!

looks tempting.
about £330 a week for the use of the boat and captain.
but not food or moorings and no indication of likely costs for those, also need to factor in the cost of a flight, so could work out a tad expensive overall.

Borth may not have the warm water but at least its local ! LOL

What exchange rate are you using Mr Loxley? The website states US $1200 - which at todays rate is £600 for the week. Flights are another £600 or so, so add a bit for food, beer, mooring etc and your looking at £1500 to £1800 for the week.

I must admit I was tempted - until I did the maths. Now Borth is looking a WHOLE lot less cold!!

Why not forget the boat idea and just visit an Island..

Come to St Lucia. Its warm, windy and best of all cheap to get to. XL airlines are doing some super good rates.. Then there are some killer deals on accommodation right near the main kite beach.

But then again, judging by the swell forecasts, you guys are about to get it real good the next few days.
Make sure to get some pics of the swells up and posted. I would happily don the old neoprene gimp suit for a taste of those size swells.

Hope you all have a good one this weekend.
Cheers
Dave.

I was having a quick look at flights to carribbean just after christmas but flights to anywhere are super expensive then, everywhere was cheap that time last year but for some reason prices seem loads more this year, seems like everyone wants to escape, can't even get canaries reasonably priced, oh well back to google!

Hey Spooks,

I saw a price of $650, maybe you were looking at the Catamaran price which was $1200.

Either way, as much as some warm sea would be tempting Borth is just a few hours away this evening. Looks like a good session ahead and I have blagged some Waroo's from a mate so I am looking to try them out.
