Terrible. Don't know what was wrong with me today but I just couldn't do it!

That sounds like fatigue Al. No wonder you couldn't do it after zero snowboarding to a full on 4 days boarding in a row.

So would you recommend a visit to Slovenia Al?

I'm seriously looking into going on a snowboarding holiday but the Alps are looking so damn expensive with the rate of exchange at the moment so I'm trying to weigh up other alternatives

You could be right Jonny especially seeing as i went for a 9 mile walk that morning as well!

Slovenia (or at least Kranjska Gora) is really nice. the resort itself isn't huge and there isn't a great variety of slopes available, but there was plenty for me. I guess it depends what you are looking for really. We didn't go out and experience the nightlife so i can't tell you about that, but the hotels are all really nice, the instructors and kit hire is good and the slopes were fine for us. There are a few bars, restaurants, pizza places etc in the town and the surrounding scenery is stunning.

Slovenia is part of the EU though so you will have the same problem with the exchange rate as elsewhere, although we did choose Slovenia as it was cheaper than anywhere else (with a kids club).

Check out http://www.kranjska-gora.si/ for more info.

Al.

Norway is another option (it isn't EU) but the beer is very expensive!!! and it's cold (the weather that is, but so is the beer {it ought to be at that price}).

Anyway I'm planning a trip to Norway in March.

I've heard beer in Finlands expensive as well. Cheap beer was a pre-requisite. Alernatively a hip flask would come in handy.

As luck would have it, one of my mates emailed me today asking if I fancied going on a snowboarding holiday with a few others to his girlfriends parents chalet at Samoens which is very near the Swiss border and about half an hour or so from Chamonix.

Get in!
